I have no idea where I want to apply to college. I'm a good student at a good school (A's with some B's, good extracurric's/leadership, good scores, highly ranked school, blah blah blah). I'm just clueluess.
Here's the deal: my school is preppy, rich and homogenous and I have always had a little trouble fitting in, and used to get made fun of a lot. So I said to myself, I want to go to a really diverse school, with a lot of smart people... if I'm around dumb people it's just draining and I really need at least some smarties to inspire/motivate me to do my best as well.
So I was thinking (and have visited): UChicago, NYU, Rice, and schools l;ike Carnegie Mellon for safeties or something. All urban and intellectual schools.
However, I keep thinking. I don't want to condemn myself to being that can't-fit-in nerd that I've always been. Once I sat down and was like, What would four years at a party school do to me? Probably a lot of good - I could open up and loosen up, stop thinking of myself as a freak, etc. Also, my school doesn't have a football team or any big sports so I figured I would love to go to a school with sports and spirit, etc.
This lead me to consider schools like: UMichigan-Ann Arbor, UWisconsin-Madison, Syracuse, BC. But maybe some schools that have good social lives but not incredible sports teams: UDelaware, UVM... I need help finding some other schools.
PROBLEM: I DON'T HAVE TIME TO VISIT ALL THESE SCHOOLS. And I can't even figure out what kind of school I should choose.
I just have no idea. I need some good safeties too. The big state schools are good because 1) I could probably get honors and 2) visiting doesn't affect your admissions chances and they don't even OFFER interviews.
HELP HELP HELP HELP!
I have aim and shit if anyone is that willing... or we can just talk on here, I don't even care. I would return the favor.
