Revised Pardon Policy -- LiveWire Teen Forums

As a direct consequence of the large influx of pardon requests received over the last few months, the moderation team has drawn together an revised procedure for how we shall be dealing with previously banned members. We believe that members have the ability to change and reform, and for this reason are happy to give second chances as and when a person proves they deserve one.
Should a member be suggested for denial of service, they are free to appeal the decision should they feel that the ban is in error. If the moderation team agrees that banning this member was not the right decision, a pardon shall be granted. Pardons shall be reserved only for instances in which the ban was made in error, and will not be given lightly.

After a member has been banned from the site, they are not permitted to return to LiveWire for a minimum of seven days, at the end of which they shall be allowed to return on a second account. This account shall be closely monitored for any misconduct, but to all extents and purposes shall be treated as a clean slate. Should the member choose to further infringe upon the Guidelines to the degree where they are a destructive presence on LiveWire, they shall again be banned from the site.

Alternatively, if a banned member wishes to play a constructive role on the forums, we are more than happy to allow them to do so. Indeed, if we believe that a member has genuinely reformed and can prove this to us through their actions, we shall be delighted to return their original account to them. However, in order to revoke a just and correct ban, a member must have consistently proven, for a sufficient period of time, that they have the genuine desire to play a positive part on LiveWire. For this reason, the team shall not even consider pardoning a member without them having waited a minimum of four months.
Please note that things such as days active shall be considered in the decision - if a member has few days active over four months, we have little to no persuasive evidence that they shall obey the Guidelines on any account.

Please also note that should a member have been banned on numerous occasions, effectively haven been given "too many chances" to reform, then they are exempt from this process. As such, they will not ever be allowed to return to LiveWire, and should they attempt to do so then their account(s) will be banned on sight.

So, in summary:
�A banned member is permitted to appeal should they feel their ban was in error
�If they were banned legitimately, members may return to the site on another account after a period of 7 days
�Should a member show a long period of constructive behaviour on this second account, they may request that their original account be pardoned after having returned on the second account for a minimum of four months
�Members who have been banned a large number of times already shall be exempt from the policy.
