I'm home now for the very long summer. Even though the last 2 years have gone really well for me, I'm not happy, and haven't been for a long time.  At school I was bullied terribly, and no one wanted anything to do with me. At one point, I knew going into school would mean I'd get beaten up. I even got followed home at times.   I'm a nice person, but for some reason, people hated me. So I started hating myself. And I still do.     I love my uni friends to bits, but they're all in their home towns, a long way from me, I don't know anyone here. And I can't stand being on my own. Is there anything I can do to boost my self esteme, and to make the long stay in this small town more bareable?

I would get a job.  
You could make some summer friends there and you'll be occupied. Plus you'll make money.
