Ok, so I've just begun exploring the little knick-knacks in Leopard's vast array of tricks. I've recently created a plug-in workflow that will convert text items into speech files. But I want to go farther...

My question: Is there any way to make my Mac play an audio file (aka one I create with a message) either a) at the login screen or (even better) b) after an incorrect password is entered and the sign-in does the little screen shake thing? I am a complete programming novice/beginner/knownothing-er and realize that this may not even be possible at all. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way.

Thanks in advance!

I've not heard of something that can do it, but there's no reason for you not to be able to find away. A wrong password triggers the shaking of the login window, so it clearly reacts, and you could add a reaction. I don't really know much about modifying Leopard like that, so I can't say specifically. You might want to try some Mac specific forums at http://hackintosh.org/ or one of the other common ones (or even Apple's own discussion area).

Thanks! I had a feeling you'd be the one to respond.
