I know a lot of people are sceptical about Wikipedia's credibility because anyone can edit or create an article, and I'm trying to prove otherwise by pointing out that graffiti and the like are removed pretty swiftly.
But I want to get my facts straight. Why are unwanted edits reverted so quickly? Are Wikipedia members alerted to new edits or something? Why are some unwanted edits not reverted as swiftly as others? Is there some kind of review system? I have seen a few bits of graffiti around, but it's usually gone as soon as I refresh the page, and I want to know why.

That's a good question. The first time I saw an edit (on the article for Brooms, someone changed Broom to Penis), I thought it wasn't changed just because it probably wasn't a very popular article. Not enough people viewing to catch it.
But then I saw Hillary Clinton's picture turned into a picture of a penis and it stayed up for a few hours, and that's gotta be a pretty popular page.
Damn, wikipedia jokesters are obsessed with penises.

There is a page that lists the last 100 or so edits. But that applies to the Wiki application in general. I imagine a site like the actual Wikipedia has gone beyond that, with pages for each category or some shit.

It seems that those who edit Wiki pages to simply abuse the article (subject matter and the like), they often only make edits using their IP addresses as accounts. The posts made by IP addresses only are flagged, and if they are found to be abusive or anything comparable, the articles are reverted.
As for review systems, I don't know enough to say. I am only aware of their flagging of posts made by users with IP addresses as usernames.
