It's cheating if you even have to ask this question at all.
Period.

I don't recommend listening to cliche bullshit like this.

That said, talk to your boyfriend, don't let someone else tell you if he was drunk or if it's a big deal or not or if it's cheating, that's up to you.

Your boyfriend sounds like a faggot, I never tell a girl that I'm getting in a fucking fight or that I've been in a fight, why the fuck would I? That alone makes me dislike him, I hate fags who call their girls to impress them with idiotic fucking lines like that, and I think you should break up with him just for the fact that he's stupid and this will almost certainly happen again. How the hell is he in a serious situation if he has time to call you, that shit is gay.

It's on you though.

It's not "cliche bullshit." Maybe you've never been in a relationship?
If you have to wonder if someone is cheating, the odds are, that it was cheating.
Another example, if you look at your boyfriend, see them with someone else, and think that they are flirting with that person, there is a 99% chance that they are.
Only you know your boyfriend, original poster. If you feel inside of you that he was cheating, then yeah, odds are he was.
If it was a relationship you could trust, you wouldn't have to ask this question.

you speak in absolutes that imply that you've never been in a serious relationship, dear.

I have known many idiots who have been fully in love with their girl who've had drunken sex and regretted deeply after even though their girl never found out. the fact that she even knows it happened means he probably had his friend break the news to her, he could have just tried to keep it from her so stop pretending like you know what you are on about. that said, drunken or not he still did the act so the op has to figure out where she wants to go from there, it is cheating certainly but its not as though he is having  a relationship with his ex, or he is and he is lying, the op needs to talk to him and the ex to figure it out, and definitely should not listen to your pretended wisdom

Some people's naivete' prevents them from making rational decisions.

A little clue.....no girl should ever permit their so called boyfriend to have another girlfriend!  Your neediness has created a monster and he will never change.
