K, I'm 170cm tall and 61kg (dunno that in ft/lbs, sorry). And I've always had a problem with one knee or the other. When I run, my left knee gives up first. When I cycle, it's my right knee. I've gone to the doctor's, they reckon there's nothing medically wrong with me.

Opinions?

You have sucky doctors.

You should probably try to find better ones, because it's not normal for your knees to just give out like that.

My dad and his co-workers are the ones to medically diagnose me

They don't really give out. Just hurts, and then if I push it then I stop being able to run, because my knee and everything under it just freezes up.

I don't know how to swim.
And I'm kinda scared of water.

Lol, just because he's your Dad doesn't mean his diagnosis is correct. You need a second opinion, that's still not normal.

two options:

a) do shit that doesn't impact your knee

b) quit bitching and keep running, your knees will most likely get stronger.

Get a knee guard and try another medical source. There could be a potential problem with the cartlidge in you knee, if you dan't start ttreating it early you could have to have a knee reconstruction. Don't wait, seriously. Try another doctor; you SHOULD be referred to have an Xray

I've had an X-Ray on it before, nothing weird showed up. And I've been to three doctors about it.

Oh, and I kept running on this knee once, even though it was fucking hard. My entire leg basically went numb, and I stopped being able to walk.

Maybe the fact that I'm a size 6 in shoes has to do with it.

Just sounds like you're not stretching properly. You should always completely stretch your body before and after you do exercises or any sport.  You're stressing your joints when you don't properly stretch or don't stretch enough. When one of your knees hurt, it's your body telling you that you're stressing it.

It probably wouldn't hurt to do some strength training for your knees and taking some vitamins as well. Talk to a sports doctor or trainer about it and see what kind of things you can do to help. It's not going to be easy at first when you start but it does help you out so much in the long run.

Make sure that you're warming up enough and stretching properly before you start the main part of your exercise routine. Try to refrain from higher impact exercises like running, which really puts a lot of strain on your joints. I know it's hard since your dad diagnosed you but you still might want to consider getting a second opinion, just to be safe.
