My mother is Christian, but recently I've come to realize that all of my beliefs are...not there.  I wear cross necklaces, and pray sometimes. I have a bible and read it occasioanlly, but to be honest, I feel nothing when I 'talk to God' and I have no faith in him.  
I think I just say that I do in order to appease my mother.  I don't know as if I believe in 'something bigger,' because it doesn't add up.  Evolution makes more sense than Creation.  
I'm really confused.  I don't know if I should continue to 'praise God' and hope that eventually I actually feel something, or whether I should just say fuck it and tell my mom I don't believe in God the next time she says 'Don't say the Lord's name in vain!'

I do believe there is a higher power, but i don't know if a God exists. It doesn't make sense that there is one God that was created by Christians and different Gods in different religions. Maybe different people in different parts of the world just create different beliefs to answer their questions. I'm not trying to influence anyone, but I am just inputting my ideas on this. As Carl Jung said, "religion is the opium of the people"

I believed for a while, because I was raised in a Christian family. Over the years though, I lost touch(not that I had much to begin with).

I would like it to be true, and it's nice in theory(like communism) but people have gone and twisted it.

I would worship a God who forgave all, created life, and didn't directly interfere in people's lives, and ruled over a nice heaven  

But I can't believe in this vengeful God who let a place like hell exist, and that he would persecute everyone who didn't worship him, whatever their circumstances be.

I've just thought about it a lot. It still bugs me sometimes that if God does exist I pretty much slapped him in the face. But then I hope that if he does exist he isn't an ass and will realize people will question if he gave us free will.
