...what happens to the eggs?

We had a thunderstorm yesterday, and there's this birds' nest with four eggs in it.

Now there are two eggs in it because the rain and stuff kind of moved them.

The bird is sitting on the two remaining eggs, but what happens to the other two?

I think the bird leaves them alone. I know that if you touch an egg, the mother will refuse to take it back

No, the nest isn't in a tree.  It's under a bush, and they're not cracked at all.  They're fine, just not under the nest

I don't know.  I saw in a park about a month ago an egg on the ground that a bird was on.  It then vanished a few days later.  There was a bird's egg in a tree in my back yard and then I looked up to see if one of it's parents was on it and they weren't.  I went up and saw the egg was gone.

I think some other animal may have taken them and ate them.  It's sad.

You could use gloves and try to put them back in the nest or call your local animal control. They will take them in and take care of them.
