Be honest how many of you know about the facts.

I'm a teacher and it's always fun to see the faces of the kids when they hear about it...


FACTs:

Statue of Liberty is taller than a 20 story building.

Her feet are 25 feet long.  Her sandals would be a size 879!

Each of her fingers is longer than a person.

There are 354 steps leading to the crown.

The Statue of Liberty weights abotu 225 tons.  Much as 3,000 people!

The 7 spikes of the crown are forthe 7 continents and 7 seas of the world.

How about that: Lady Liberty is actually closer to New Jersey than New York (and actually is on the New Jersey side of the border), but there was an agreement that anything on the island is New York's and anything below was New Jersey's.

I saw it on the Travel Channel last night, haha.
