They only ache a little bit when first put on and get tightened. It's no big deal. Better than upper teeth ones, because you don't see them all the time.

I would say it's more discomfort than pain and it's not all the time, just when they're first put on and when they're tightened.

They hurt for a few days when you first get them. They hurt when you get your wire changed. And it gets annoying if they make you wear rubberbands. You feel very restricted.

It depends on the person, though. I only hurt for a couple hours when I got mine at first. Evvery time I get a new wire, it doesn't hurt at all. Only for a couple minutes. So it depends.

They only hurt if your a pansy.

I have them on the top and to bottom, and I had a spacer AND I play the French Horn (you have to put a lot of the pressure on your teeth when you play the french horn, so when you have braces you tend to cut up your inner lip).

I didn't think they hurt at all.

The thing you should worry about is eating corn, apples etc...

They will hurt at first. When they get put on, and then they'll also hurt whenever they're tightened, but the pain won't last. You can even get clear-colored braces if you're feeling self-conscious about it.

It depends. If the dentist puts them on correctly, then you'll be fine. For the first few days it will be uncomfortable, and eating hard food may be slightly painful, but after a while you won't feel them. But, if you have my dentist, he'll leave the edges of the brace sharp, causing the metal to dig into the sides of your mouth and making big holes. But that's only if you have my dentist, so I wouldn't worry. :)

My friends always used to complain of their teeth aching when they would get tightened  but otherwise I haven't heard anything too bad about them. You may want to have some smoothies or ice cream when you first get them put on because I hear it can be a bit hard to chew.
