Now...i have a cop behind me, but i am going to  agree with you, and say that paedophiles  should not be jailed if not found to have abused a kid.
Until they find a cure for this... i don't think we should waste time and money jailing them if they don't  abuse kids.

I was talking to officer mathis  and he says  that he disagrees with me.
But he does say he thinks  it shouldn't  be a crime...and instead  they should  help the paedophiles.
I too, think they  are innocent when jailed if they were only  looking at pictures.

Surely though, having such a strong urge for a minor, a child, such as a pedophile would, can lead to illegal activity.

my point still stands in it's entirety, paedophiles should not be discriminated against because of "cans"

i find it disturbing you seem to support law enforcement being 'ready to pounce' rather than overcoming the discrimination that innocent people are  suffering; where the hell does a paedo go for help?

Therapy does not work at all.
They have tried to cure many, the best they can do is temp. end their urges but instantly the urges come back.
It is obvious it becomes hardwired in the brain, hence why i said we shoudln't do anything until we find a cure. Because they cannot help it.

Medical therapy is still a fair enough treatment.
If it can temporarily suspend urges, i'm sure with a little more dedication and ALOT MORE TIME, the pedophile just might be able to control his/her urges a bit.

Of course, this would mean that the pedophile would need to spend just about a lifetime going trough this treatment, but it's better than having him/her out on the loose with a strong urge to perform certain activities on a child.

As for a medical cure, besides medical therapy, all i can think of is a drug that will lower testosterone levels.

There is a big ass difference in a pedophile and a child molester. No, do not stop jailing child molesters by any means. I never said ANYTHING that even came close to suggesting that it's acceptable for anyone to molest kids.
