Should I Leave LiveWire?

I know you guys don't know who I am so it would be difficult to answer my question if I should leave LiveWire or not.  However, I'll let you know how I'm feeling.  If you could tell me what you think about the situation, it would be greatly appreciated.

I feel as if I am not qualified whatsoever to help anyone.  I know that you do not have to be qualified and many people on here are not, but I really want to try and help people.  I am a Support Leader and I really do spend a lot of time trying to reply to as many eHelps as I can.  I do not just reply for points -  I try and make them as detailed as I can.  I've easily spent hours on one eHelp reply.

I'm rather new here so I am still learning more about the site every day - I've only been here for a little over two months.  But, I really want to help people.  I am young, too, which I feel is a disadvantage because there are many older people on here who are much more supportive than I am.

I get thank-yous all of the time for the replies that I provide on not only the eHelp system but also just regular topics.  I do try and spend as much time as I can to provide a quality response to someone.  I just feel that I am not capable of providing people with the help that they need.

I mean, there is this one Support Leader (he's also a moderator.)  He writes replies which are a lot better than the ones I can ever think about writing.  He is about seven years older than me, but they absolutely blow mine out of the water and he does not hesitate telling me that either.  I don't blame him though, he deserves it.  He deserves the recognition and the respect a lot more than I do - that's for sure.

I don't know what to think, really.  I try really hard to help people but I just feel like the help that I am capable of providing isn't good enough.

What do you think?

If you've received thank-yous, you're obviously helping someone well enough, I'd say you're qualified. Just because there are people better doesn't mean you're not any good, you're still helping others. Also, please don't leave because you can type properly and it makes me smile.

Right. The likelihood that you could help anyone's problems on here that are more than just passing aches about how someone's love isn't requited for them etc. etc. is damn near impossible. If they do help, then their problem probably wasn't as bad as they made it out to be.

No, we need good support leaders, and you sound like one, the last thing we need is them leaving. eHelp has been flooded lately and we all appreciate the time each SL invests in answering regular topics as well as eHelps. There are bound to be people who may answer better than you, but don't take that to heart. I've seen replies a lot better than mine, and in the end it's all good because we're all trying to help people, and we all get recognition for it one way or another.

i don't get where leaving comes into question. maybe giving up your SL status (which i think would be a ridiculous idea), but not that.

stick around, help when you can. just because you don't like your replies doesn't mean nobody ever does.

Stay, I'm sure replies are of some help. And from what you've told me it seems to me you are a lot more helpful than you think

I think you're making a way too huge deal out of it.

Already the fact that you're trying to help people means that you're helping so yeah.
