Is it worth buying one from the Apple Store?

My last ipod committed suicide, so to speak. I want a new one but I don't want to sell an organ to get one.

Is this a good idea? What other options do I have? I thought of ebay but that's not safe and with the apple store at least I'd get some guaranty, right?

Help! & Thanks!

You are MUCH better off buying a new iPod on ebay than buying any refurbished ipod from Apple.

If you buy a refurbished one, you still run the risk of it falling back into its old ways.  What I would do is search the internet spec by spec and find the cheapest ones.  Some places actually do have sales on them sometimes.

I am? Well I've heard stories of people selling bad ipod's on ebay so I'm kinda scared of paying for one and then ending up with a bad ipod. IDK.

Don't waste your time on a refurbished iPod. It'll probably kill itself again, then you'd be in the same boat again as you're in now, with less money in your pocket.

Buy the new one and save yourself the trouble.

Yeah okay let me come up with 209$ plus the earphones and the little leather or whatever bag for it.

What do you mean by spec by spec? like going store by store comparing prices and praying for a miracle kinda thing?

ughhh the ipod nano won't even be able to use my old leather case cuz now they are a square.

Exactly. Maybe you've done this, but.

Go to google
and then "shopping"
and type in Apple Ipod + version you want
It comes up with different prices and different online stores.  Click "5 stores" or "27 stores" or whatever it is, and it'll come up with all the site and prices.

I use this technique very frequently.

Look at that seller's feedback.  If he has 2000 votes and all positive.. chances are he'll give you what you're asking for.

Also, many sellers on ebay only sell certain items.  So if they only sell ipods and have plenty of feedback ( preferrably all positive), then the chances of you getting ripped off are slim.
