so ive had my bellybutton pierced for about 4 months. and last night i realized that my body was beginning to reject the ring. meaning my body was literally pushing the ring out. i took it out this morning and i want to know if there was anyway to help the wound heal faster.

None really just keep it clean and putting ointment like Neosporin on it would help.

DO NOT TOUCH IT

just clean it out with a mild unscented soap x2 a day, and if there is a lot of gook and crusties, use a qtip to wipe it with peroxide or rubbing alcohol. do not overuse the alcohol or peroxide though, they're good in small doses because they dry out areas, but it can also kill tissue

Are you saying that you belly has better sense than your brain?   Sorry for being a smart ass but I hate those things.

Clean it with peroxide or alcohol and apply Neosporin several times a day.

What ever you do DON'T touch it.
I had the same problem. And even cleaning it made it worse. I just left it untouched for a month. And then cleaned it and infection went away and stuff. Also i went to the piercing studio and they gave me tips on what to do.

Mine is fine now.

uh, dont clean it with peroxide or alcohol.  Both of those are cytocides, meaning that they kill cells/ kill the newly forming cells, and therefore inhibit healing.  If you are worried about infection, it is ok to clean with peroxide one time, and after that just use soap.

Clean it while you are in the shower with a mild soap and dont touch it with dirty hands and it'll be fine.  You could also do warm sea salt soaks to help draw out any debris that may collect in the wound.
