So this morning my dad was driving me home from my boyfriends house when we got t-boned by an old man who apparently failed to see that his light was RED and had been for quite sometime.
Anyways, our car is totalled, and there has been no *serious* harm done to me, my dad, or my dog. Other than a pain that has been increasing in my lower back since the accident.
I went to the doctors later after the pain got too unbearable (I can hardly walk right now or lift myself up from a chair). He told me not to work or do any physically demanding things.
I was supposed to work today and tomorrow, which now I am not able to because of doctor's orders.

Is there any way I can get compensation for my lost work hours from this guy? Considering it is his fault that I am not able to work...

You could, but it's not that easy.
My dad was in a car accident over four years ago and had a few injuries that he had to take off work and he couldn't do a lot of things anymore and he still hasn't gotten compensation.
If your injury is serious and the damage to your car is that bad then I would try to get something, but just keep in mind it probably won't happen right away.

It's unfortunate that a lawyer would cost more than the few days wages. I wish there was some sort of law that would simply enforce him to pay me, maybe his insurance will cover it

I'm not sure how serious my injury is. All I know is that work wont let me back until a doctor says I'm good to work.
The car has been written off, the front axle is snapped in half, the entire passenger side from the front wheel to almost the trunk is mashed in. Both passenger side doors wont open or close, and there's been a layer of the steel peeled off from the front door to the back.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad! I hope he gets his compensation money soon. They need to be more diligent on these things.
