So I went to a funeral today

First of all, I should say that despise being late.  I am very very punctual.

It was my cousin's funeral (RIP Troy), and we were twenty minutes late.  We walked in the church, and the family side was full, and we were just gonna stand up in the back.  I saw that there were some open spots in the front (ugh, being late, and sitting at the front, right?), so my mom starts walking in front of my dad and me, THEN she pushes me ahead of her 'cause she was embarrassed or whatever.  Thanks, Mom.

But it was a nice service though. We all miss him; he was one of those guys where he was just the light of every room he walked into.

How do you feel about funerals?

It's a nice way to honour someone, it's like it brings families together more as a unit and stuff. Still pretty sad though

Sorry to hear about your cousin. :(

I think funerals are a nice way to honor and remember someone as they were in life rather than in death and remember that you will see them again one day, and that they will be happier than ever before.

I can only remember 3 that I have ever been to. The first was when I was about 4, and I didn't understand why everyone was crying...well, I understood, death just didn't affect me like that then. The other two were both grandfathers--my dad's dad and his step-dad. I cried at both of those.

One thing I loved about funerals with my family though, there was always food available.

EDIT: Thinking about it, there were two others, not family, but church members.  My classmates and I sang at both of them.
