Wow... is some one jealous...

Apperently as soon as you get a nice car you're ungrateful. The stick price for my ride was $28,000 brand new in 04. I got it last year when I was 15 for a birthday present.

You guyz suck so bad at life.

OK and in 2000, my grannymobile was $28K.. You have no argument..

Holy Jesus Lord. No way. No wonder Honda has the best selling sedan title. For $28k you could actually buy a good car.

Yes. I am jealous. Which is why I have a problem when people are getting cars for free out there and they are less thankful and appreciative then I am for having something as fantastic as a '89 Tempo.

Worse, actually. The trunk and surrounding rear  upward-facing surfaces have a bad case of herpes. Not the rust kind either, strange. But the rest of the car's paint is well, and I know for a fact the paint issues started before I got the car.

I didn't consider my 97 Dodge Neon a nice car.  But I didn't have to pay for it.  I think it was like $2000.

It was my learner car.

I could understand the parent like having a crappy old car and then being like here kid you can learn on it while I get the new car.  But even then if my future kids did anything remotely close to what my brother has done to the truck he took over, they wouldn't be driving any more.

But I will not buy my kids a brand new car, it will not work that way.

I started with a 99 2Dr Neon. Complete base model, no cd/cassette but low miles and pretty clean.

I think it took me all of 6 months to smash that. Nice car though. Worth about 3500 at the time.

My dad got me a moped when I was 16, but I saved up the money for the rest of my bikes on my own.

I don't mind if parents want to buy their kids a car, I just find it irritating when the kids badmouth other peoples cars and try to show off what mommy and daddy brought them.

I'd rather have my £1200 bike than their £10,000 cars anyway - its much faster ;)

1) My parents bought it, but only because they had to take out a lone, and they didn't want me to, because they didn't want me to have to worry about credit, bank fees, having to make payments on time, and shit at such a young age. However, I do have to pay them back. So, I essentially, I bought it.

2) 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier. Got it for $3000.

3) It's not really a problem. The thing that pisses me off, though, is when they go somewhere and brag about their brand new $30,000 BMW, and they refer it as "their" car, when their parents bought it. Even worse, if they have no information on the history of the car. Like, if they don't even know what BMW stands for, then that's not a good thing. If you're going to brag about something, at least know the history behind it, or else you'll look just like another ignorant rich boy/girl.

Come to think of it, I'm actually proud of the people at my school. In the student parking lot, the newest car in it is a 1995 Corsica. Meaning either the kid bought it, or the parents aren't retarded morons.

1. My parents bought it. I would never have been able to afford my own car, especially with the price of insurance over here.

2. £3500.

3. No, I think its fine. Most kids can't afford their own cars, especially if you just have a part time weekend job. Many of my friends were given nice cars by their parents for their 17th birthday, but they aren't ungrateful. If your parents have the money to buy you a new, reliable car then why not?

Because if you have a new, reliable first car then you won't learn anything and you'll end up being the kind of person that can't even change a tyre.
