They don't understand the concept of God or why God does things. If I could understand God, he wouldn't be God then would he? Plus, he promises that all will be revealed when we get to heaven. Why can't atheists just learn to trust? 1) Your argument is based on fundamental ignorance of the basics laws of physics
2) Your argument is obviously further based on don't know = Goddidit

What? Proof? So when someone's falling from a 20 story building thanks to gravity (PHYSICS) that's not proof? The reason people believe in Physics is because it can be proven.

I know this is hard for you to accept but that's not actually how it works. Physical laws can be independantly tested and verified. While specific individuals may've codified and described physical laws, they are not the only people capable of providing proof for their validity. It's not like prophecy. In science, you don't take people's word for anything.

"The concept of God" is not complex, and I guarentee you that anyone introduced to the idea of a god can understand it. That includes atheists. This is a very common claim, and indeed one of the stupidest. "If you understood it you'd believe it." No. We understand, and we don't believe.

You were talking about understanding the concept of God, not understanding "God" himself. Those are different, you know. Even you understand the concept of God.

If God had told atheists that, it'd be a sure bet they would trust him. The problem is that God has never said anything to anyone. People claim to talk to him all the time, but they've no proof. Why don't you trust Ahura Mazda? the Mazda promises us he'll win the cosmic battle with evil and all will be well. Why can't you Christians just learn to trust?

im atheist because i am too logical to actually believe that there is an invisible man that lives in the clouds and sees everything we do. he makes all sorts of promises that cant possibly come true. besides, didnt i hear that you should never believe a promise from a man? god is stereotypically male. i cant believe in something like that. i used to go to sunday school and church and i have read the bible and everything. some of my best freinds are extremely devout christians. but i just cant believe that.

Why don't you believe in, say, Egyptian gods? Or some of the son gods? Or any other 'pagan' beliefs? Or any other ancient religions? Or Islam? Or Hinduism? Or Buddhism? Confucianism? Taoism? Judaism? Why don't you believe in some of those religions? Do you maybe 'not understand them'? Or is it just that you were not brought up with belief in those religions, so now you find them all false. Personally, if I chose which religion to believe in, I'd go with the oldest one, because it was at least the first one with the whole religious concept.
