I know that mothers can get really clingy and meddlesome with their sons, especially when they're about ready to move out of the house, but I had never actually been faced with it before. All of a sudden after his mom found out that I was going to go to a college two hours away after I graduate high school this year and that he was going to transfer from his college with me, she's been really protective and asks way too many questions. She keeps coming to conclusions that I don't like her because I don't talk to her that much, but I'm not a talkative person and neither is my bf. Today I was told that she was being condescending when it came to the time I was spending with him, I was told this by my bf. He's told me that he's defending me and telling her that it's not like that. I do like her. I just have been so busy lately that anytime I spend with him, we both want it just to be him and me, not the parents. His dad has been telling her this, but she's still being this way. What should I do to ease this tension between us that I didn't know was there? Even if I was talkative, I still have no clue what to talk to her about. It's really awkward being around her.
