I plan on cutting my hair once every couple months or so... but only cutting off split ends, etc.

By May-ish, how long do you think my hair will be if I stick to that plan...

Right now, my hair is just barely below the shoulder

It really depends on the person, and how fast there hair grows... In 3 months my hair usually gros about an inch to an inch in a half...Sometiems two.

Yeah it really varies between people.. but I'd say, above your chest. Do you mean trim your hair when you say "cut split ends", or do you literally just cut the split ends and leave the rest be? If you trim it straight, maybe a bit less than that.

since hair grows 1/2 inches every month. and by trimming it doesn't really help at all. according to what i've read.

I go to a salon, and I'll just have them cut the dead parts, making sure they don't take drastic measures out.
