Im finally allowed get another dog, my old one died about 3 months ago

i have room for about a medium sized dog and have the facilities to walk it a LOT

my question is, since there are kids (10) in the house... what dog would be right?
i mean... my last dog was a king charles and she was really lazy and unactive... so id be looking for something friendly

i know the obvious ones: lab and springer... but if i could get a few more id really be grateful :) thanks for anyone who replies and helps :D
